The Boy is an American TV series based on the genre of fiction, thriller, superheroes, adventure, action drama, and dark comedy.
The drama is based on the famous comic series of the same name written by the veteran Ireland born American comics writer and novelist Garth Ennis and his partner and famous American illustrator Darick W. Robertson.
The first season of the series was released in 2019 whereas the second season premiered in September 2020. The series has been a big hit and there have been 16 episodes up till now.
The Boys is a very fascinating script and revolves around a team of ordinary men called the Boys who take on against another team of superheroes who are very powerful and misuse those powers to benefit themselves.
The plot is obviously a very new concept as it introduces the idea that superheroes are not always good and can be villains actually misusing their powers. So, the drama series shows what happens when superheroes, which are praised as gods, loved by everyone, and as popular as gods, abuse their powers and hurt instead of help others.
The Boys start out on the journey to expose the reality of the Seven and resolves to fights against them. The drama consists of a very fine cast and directors have been thoroughly praised for their choice of actors. The cast includes Karl Urban, Billy Butcher, Jack Quaid as Hughie Campbell, Antony Starr as John (Homelander), Chace Crawford as Kevin, and many more.
The drama series has been rated with an 84% approval rate on Rotten Tomatoes on the basis of 98 reviews. The average rating is around 7.72 out of 10. On Metacritic, the drama series was able to secure a score of around 74 out of 100.
