What We Do in The Shadows is an American mockumentary or docu-comedy based on the genre of horror, comedy, and mystery fiction drama. The TV series was created by Jemaine Clement, a New Zealand actor, musician, and singer as well as filmmaker and director.
The TV series premiered and came out in March 2019 on the American pay-TV channel FX. The series is the second one in the franchise based on the film of the same name, written by Clement and Taika Waititi, that was released in 2014. There have been two seasons and the third season was announced in May 2020.
The series has a very captivating script that revolves around four vampires who have lived together on Staten Island for more than 100 years. The four vampires are the roommates Nandor, Laszlo, Nadja, and Colin.
Nandor the Relentless, played by Kayvan Novak, is the oldest vampire who was once the leader of the fictional Persian kingdom called Al-Quolanudar. As she is the oldest she is the self-proclaimed head of the group. Laszlo is an English gentleman vampire who married Nadja. He is obsessed with sex and is also a former adult actor.
Najda, the wife of Laszlo, turned her husband into a vampire and then married him. She is very often nostalgic about her human life and annoyed with her male roommates. Colin lives by sucking energy off human beings and is very boring, he lives in the basement. Guillermo De la Cruz is the long time servant and familiar or Nandor. He has served his master for 11 years and is mortal.
