Rock the bells serves as the third song from the debut album of the famous American rapper, songwriter, composer, actor, and author, James Todd Smith. The album was released in 1985 by Def Jam Recordings which is a multinational record label company based in Manhattan.
The song Rock the Bells was written and composed by LL Cool J himself and produced by Rick Rubin, who’s an American record producer and a former president at Columbia records. The song was so popular and hit that it ranked as number 17 on the Hot Hip Hop Songs.
The title of the song is strange because no bells can actually be heard in the song or album recording. However, the original version of the song that had bells of different types was launched in 1982 and was based on a song called Breaking Bells composed and sung by an American hip-hop group ‘Crash Crew.’
This was also later used in another album by LL Cool J by the name of Mama Said Knock You Out and its song of the same name. The introduction of the song was also imitated by a football teacher from England known as John Barnes for his single in the year 1988.
The popularity of the song can be seen from the fact that the game was also used in the video game Mat Hoffman Pro BMX2 in 2002 and then in 2006 in the video game Scarface: The world is yours. Apart from that, the song has also been used in numerous other games and movies.
Rock the Bells has a duration of 4 minutes and it was written by James Todd Smith along with Frederick Rubin. Finally, the super hit song was also used on Smith’s own channel Rock the Bells Radio.
