She answers an advert that requires a midwife or nurse to work in Virgin River which is a town in the remote areas of northern California.

She gets the job and believing that this would be the perfect place to live she decides to settle in the town away from the busy and happening city life. However, in a very short time, she realizes that life in the town is not what it seemed to be, and to make this town her home she must heal herself.
