Union Jack or Union flag is the national flag of the United Kingdom, and although it’s not a legal flag but it’s been considered a de facto flag through its use for centuries. The flag has official status in Canada where it’s used in the parliament and known as the Royal Union Flag. It’s is however used as the official flag in some small British territories.
The origins of the flag date back to the 1600s when King James had landed the English and Irish thrones.
